My scenic road trip starting point was Luxembourg, unfortunately getting all the way there from Mexico isn´t as efficient as it could be, there was only one way to get there in a timely manner but was extremely expensive. That´s why I decided to position myself to Heathrow where 4,500 Avios can easily be redeemed for the short hop to Luxembourg. That´s exactly what happened.

This flight was on the old soft Business Class product from United, that means it wasn’t a Polaris flight just yet, even though the hard product is still the same so far.
United Airlines
Chicago (ORD) – London (LHR)
Boeing 767-300
Flight Time: 8 hours
Seat: 9A
Waiting on my seat was this Special Edition Amenity Kit waiting for me. They were commemorating 35 years of flying the US Olympic team. It seems to be that they had too many leftover from the summer and kept giving them until finish.
The Kit wasn’t particularly appealing to me, but I still liked the socks.
Why not start with a glass of Champagne?
The salad was actually decent, and really loved the smoked salmon…
My choice for Entree was the Short Rib, which was really good! The sides were Risotto and Veggies. Of course, followed by a Gin & Tonic…
Right after, I say yes to the cheese selection plate along with some Port.
To finish, it was time for the United signature Sundae….
Business Class passengers were invited to use the Fast Track service upon landing at Heathrow airport. It would have been very helpful, but since I was connecting to Luxembourg didn’t take advantage of the invite.
The sun was rising just before landing in London…
Breakfast was served just before landing, but I wasn’t hungry at all…
Conclusion
This was such an average United flight with no major positive or negative things to shout out. Everything ran smoothly, had a very decent crew, was kind of a short flight but still managed to get around 4 hours of sleep.
